Tips and Techniques For an Awesome Adventure!

The first rule of enjoying any adventure: Don't do stuff that's not enjoyable! We all see Bear Grylls and Cody Lundin doing tortuous sorts of things on their TV shows in the name of adventure and survival... none of which looks or sounds like fun.

A solid adventure starts with an activity and destination that's interesting to you. For me, that's anywhere in the mountains, rivers or forests, whether it's Yosemite, the Grand Teton's, or right here in Sonoma Valley.

Then, it's about what you do. I like trekking best, seeing the sights along the way and enjoying the peace nature brings. Perhaps you like to fish... or kayak... or mountain bike. All great stuff! The point is, pick something you like to do to nourish your mind, body and soul.

Lastly, make sure you're prepared for it. I can't tell you how many times I've gone out with people who say they want "go climb a mountain!" Well, that sounds good, but unless you've been training hard, you're unlikely to be successful in doing so. Make sure you're doing activities that your body is ready for. This way you can do it all... be where you want to be, doing something you love, and most importantly, not feeling physically drained for the next week!

Live life to the fullest. See you at the summit!!
